How to Place an Order
Purchasing an artwork on Tartan Gallery is easy, simply follow the steps below. (All links in this section open on a new page)
Choose your Art
You can browse through our section, narrowing your selection by using the filters at the top of the page; browse through the available artists with information about each artist; and search for art if you have specific requirements.
Once you have found items which you may be interested in you can find out more about them by clicking the Info button below the work. This will show you details such as the Category, Colour and Medium, as well as a larger preview image.
Buy your Choices
To purchase art you must add the items you wish to your shopping basket by clicking the Buy button, either on the list of art of an individual work's page. Once you have added an item to your basket additional links will appear at the top right of the page where you can view your basket and 'Checkout' - purchase the items in the basket.
Once you have completed the sign up process you may start the Checkout process and purchase the items you have chosen
You can pay for your items using various method - online credit/debit card payment or telephone/fax/postal payment. The choice of payment methods will be presented to you during the checkout process. With methods other than online credit/debit card payment the items you have chosen are not reserved for you until payment has been received.
Art is delivered directly from the artist using courier. Delivery to UK mainland addresses is included in the price but international or delivery to outlying areas of the UK will incur an additional charge. Please contact us before purchasing if you have any questions or to receive a price for delivery.
You can find out the status of your order by visiting the order history page. In addition, by default you will receive an email when the status of your order is changed. If you prefer not to receive these emails this can be switched off by editing your account
The possible status values are :
- Waiting for Payment - your order has been sent for processing and you selected telephone, fax or postal payment. Please contact us with your payment details.
- Payment Failed - your credit or debit card has been declined by our processor, please email email@example.com
- Payment Received - payment was received for this order and it is now being packaged for delivery
- Order Completed - your order has been sent
All artwork will be sent direct from the artist to you, at the address detailed on the order, by a designated carrier. Goods will normally be dispatched within 7 days of receipt of your order. For the avoidance of doubt, the time of delivery is not an essential term of the contract between us. We shall not, therefore, be held liable for any delay in delivery of items ordered from us.
The artwork prices will include the cost of delivery anywhere on mainland UK. For any overseas shipments and shipments to outlying areas of the UK there will be an additional cost which you will be advised of prior to the goods being sent. To purchase artwork from those areas please contact us before ordering the item(s) - you will be advised of the delivery cost and you can then order the item as normal from the website. If you pay by credit card a separate charge will be placed on your card for the delivery costs.
Title to each item will pass to you on receipt by us of the full purchase price of that item.
Payment Card Security
Credit/debit card processing is handled by SecPay. Online payments use industry standard SSL encryption to ensure the details cannot be intercepted.
